The End of FTLOF

It’s time to say goodbye to a project that I’ve put a lot of time, miles, money, energy and effort into over the last two years.

It’s time to close the chapter that is For the Love of Futbol.
I created FTLOF as an eager sports journalist, who had previously covered AFC Ann Arbor for a publication, and a soccer fan that has been going to Detroit City FC matches since its inaugural year. I’ve loved soccer for a very long time, and I wanted to help put eyes on this region with consistent and professional coverage.

I created FTLOF during a difficult time in my life, hoping to use the site as a positive and creative way to get out of that rut. What happened after the creation and launch was beyond what I projected.

But I am no longer an eager journalist, and my path has changed since last summer; so this is the perfect time to close the book on FTLOF. With both primary clubs at the top of the table and (presumably) heading into the playoffs.

I’ve met incredible people and made incredible memories, but I’m not finished with soccer media. I have some exciting things coming up in the future, so keep an eye out for that. I will also continue to be at both clubs matches as long as they’re around; cameras in hand.

Lastly, THANK YOU. At the end, an independent website that was ran exclusively by one person, while only being active a total of six out of 24 months, amassed over 30,000 views. It wouldn’t have been possible without you guys and I appreciate your eyes and interactions.
Coverage will continue as normal through the end of this season.

If you see me at a match, make sure to say hi.
